Community Guidelines

Version 2026-10-06 · Effective 6 October 2026

Zayalle works because people share honest, useful local knowledge and treat each other well. These guidelines apply to everything you post or send on Zayalle: Community Finds, reviews, provider profiles, Marketplace posts, discussion messages, photos and reports.

1. Be respectful

Disagree politely and keep conversations about the place, item or service. No insults, threats, intimidation or repeated unwanted contact. If someone declines a request or does not reply, accept it and move on.

2. Be truthful

Describe things as they are. Use real photos of the actual item, place or work, state the real price and condition, and keep listings up to date. Mark Marketplace posts as sold or found when they are, and pause skills you can no longer offer.

3. Be yourself

Do not impersonate another person, business, public body or Zayalle. Do not claim qualifications, licences, awards or verification you do not have. Providers must not suggest that Zayalle has checked or endorsed them.

4. No harassment, hate or abuse

Content that attacks people because of their race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, caste, gender, sexual orientation, disability, age or similar characteristics is not allowed. Neither is sexual content, graphic violence, bullying, stalking or encouragement of self-harm.

5. No scams or illegal activity

No fraud, fake payment confirmations, advance-fee requests, phishing links, pyramid schemes or requests for passwords and one-time codes. No illegal goods or services: weapons, drugs, counterfeit or stolen goods, fake documents, adult services, or regulated work offered without the required licence.

6. Respect other people’s rights

Post only content you created or have permission to use. Do not copy photos or descriptions from other websites, brochures or Google Maps. Do not misuse trademarks or logos. See the Content & Copyright Policy.

7. Protect privacy

Do not post anyone’s home address, phone number, e-mail, ID documents or photos without their permission — including in discussion messages and Community Finds about home-based sellers. Share contact details only through the Interested and Share contact tools or on your own listing. Never post your own card details, passwords or codes.

8. Review integrity

Review only places, products and providers you have actually used. No reviews of your own business or profile, no reviews of competitors, no paid or incentivised reviews unless clearly disclosed, and no review swapping. Keep reviews about the experience, not the person.

9. Community Finds

Share places and services you have visited or used recently. Choose the right category, describe why it is useful, and use the approximate-area option for home-based sellers. Use “Still Active”, “Moved” or “Details changed” honestly — several reports send a find back for review.

10. Marketplace behaviour

Follow the Marketplace Rules. Post each item once, in the right type and category. Keep discussion messages about the post. Do not post prohibited items, do not push buyers to pay in advance, and meet in safe public places.

11. Provider claims

Independent providers must describe their skills accurately, quote fair prices, and hold any licence the work requires. Do not offer services that put people at risk without proper training, insurance and permission. Respect the privacy of customers whose homes you enter.

12. Discussion messages

Discussions under Marketplace posts are visible to people viewing that post. Keep them relevant, polite and free of personal contact details. You can delete your own messages; moderators can remove messages that break these guidelines.

13. Images

Upload clear photos of the actual thing. No images of identifiable people without permission, no images of children in Marketplace posts, no sexual, violent or shocking images, and no images containing personal documents.

14. Contact sharing

Contact details shared with you are for that conversation only. Do not add people to marketing lists, forward their details to others, or use them after the person asks you to stop.

15. Reports and moderation

Use the Report button for anything that breaks these guidelines. Reports are reviewed by people; the reported person is not told who reported them. Please do not misuse reports to target someone. Moderators may remove content, hide posts, suspend Marketplace access, suspend provider profiles or suspend accounts.

16. Repeat violations

Most problems are handled by removing the content and explaining why. Serious violations — scams, threats, illegal goods, impersonation — or repeated violations can lead to immediate suspension, and we may share information with authorities where the law requires.

These policies may be updated as Zayalle evolves.
