COMMUNITY MARKETPLACE

Marketplace & Local Exchange Rules

Version 2026-10-06 · Effective 6 October 2026

The Community Marketplace helps neighbours sell, find, give away and swap things, and ask each other for help. It is a place to connect — not a shop.

🛡️Zayalle helps people discover and connect locally. Please verify the person, item, condition, credentials and payment arrangements yourself before proceeding.

1. Local connection only

Zayalle shows your post to people nearby and lets them reach you. Zayalle does not sell the item, is not a party to the deal, and does not guarantee the seller’s identity, the item’s condition, the payment or the handover.

2. No checkout, escrow or delivery

There is no payment, checkout, escrow, buyer protection, shipping or delivery on Zayalle. Any payment is arranged directly between you and the other person, at your own risk.

3. Before you pay or hand over

  • Inspect the item in person and check that it works.
  • Verify the person: check their profile, ask questions, and be wary of pressure or urgency.
  • Prefer cash on collection or payment methods that do not require sharing passwords or codes. Never send money in advance to someone you have not met.
  • Watch out for fake payment screenshots, overpayment “refunds”, links to unknown payment pages and requests to move the conversation elsewhere quickly.

4. Meeting safely

Meet in a busy public place in daylight, bring someone with you for valuable items, tell a friend where you are going, and do not invite strangers to your home or go to theirs if you are not comfortable. Trust your instincts and walk away if something feels wrong.

5. Prohibited and restricted items

Do not post: weapons, ammunition or explosives; drugs, prescription medicines or steroids; alcohol or tobacco where restricted; counterfeit, replica or stolen goods; fake or forged documents and IDs; adult or sexual services; animals where trade is restricted; recalled or unsafe products; personal data; or anything illegal where you or the buyer are. Regulated items and services may require a licence. Zayalle may remove any post that appears unsafe or unlawful.

6. Accurate posts

Use real photos of the actual item (up to four), describe its condition honestly, and state the real price. Choose the correct type: Selling, Looking for, Giving away, Swap, Need help or Local request. Do not post the same item repeatedly or use misleading prices to attract attention.

7. Image ownership

Only upload photos you took or have permission to use. Do not use photos from shops, brochures or other websites, and do not include people, children, number plates or documents in your photos.

8. Mark it sold or found

When an item is sold, given away or found, mark the post accordingly so people stop contacting you. You can close or reopen a post at any time while it is yours.

9. Post expiry

Posts expire automatically after a set period (currently 30 days). Expired, sold and closed posts disappear from the feed and search but remain visible by link for a while with their status. You can reopen a post to renew it.

10. Interested and contact sharing

Tapping “Interested” notifies the owner without revealing anyone’s contact details. The owner can reply in the post’s discussion, share chosen contact details with you, or decline. Shared details are for this deal only. Owners can also choose to show contact details on the post for signed-in visitors.

11. Discussion threads

Each post has its own public discussion with text and photos. Do not post phone numbers, addresses or payment details there — use “Interested”. You can delete your own messages, report others’ messages and block people.

12. Reporting scams

Report posts and messages that look like scams, prohibited items or abuse. Do not continue the conversation, do not send money, and if you have lost money contact your bank and the police. Moderators may remove posts and suspend Marketplace access.

These rules form part of the Terms of Use and may be updated as Zayalle evolves.
