LOCAL SKILLS
Independent Providers: Safety & Disclaimer
Zayalle helps you discover nearby service providers. Please verify qualifications, licences, experience, identity and suitability directly before hiring.
1. What Local Skills are
Local Skills lists independent people — freelancers, home-based workers, mobile service providers and people earning a side income — who offer a skill to others nearby. Profiles are created by the providers themselves.
2. What Zayalle checks — and does not
Every provider profile says “Credentials not verified by Zayalle”. Zayalle has not checked the provider’s identity, qualifications, licences, insurance, references or work history, and does not guarantee the quality, safety or legality of their work. This label will only change if Zayalle actually carries out a check in the future. Reviews describe other users’ experiences; they are not a verification.
3. Zayalle is not the employer
Providers are independent. Zayalle does not employ, supervise, schedule or pay them, and is not a recruitment or staffing agency. The agreement for any work is between you and the provider.
4. What you should check
- Ask for identification and confirm the name matches the profile.
- Ask for the licence, permit or qualification the work requires, and check it with the issuing authority where possible.
- Ask for references or examples of previous work.
- Agree the price, scope and timing in writing before work starts. Avoid paying the full amount in advance.
- For bigger jobs, consider whether insurance is needed.
5. Extra care for sensitive services
Please verify identity, licences, qualifications and references before hiring for: childcare, elderly care, healthcare-related help, electrical work, gas work, plumbing, driving and transport, cleaning and domestic work in your home, home repairs and security-related services. These profiles show a stronger warning. Never leave children or vulnerable people alone with someone you have not checked, and be cautious about giving access to your home, vehicle or personal information.
6. Regulated services
Some work legally requires a licence or a registered company (for example electrical and gas installation, medical services, transport of passengers or goods, and some trades). Providers are responsible for complying with these rules; users should not hire unlicensed providers for regulated work.
7. If you are a provider
Describe only skills you genuinely have, quote fair prices, and do not claim licences or verification you do not hold. You don’t need to publish your home address — your area and travel radius are enough. Choose which contact channels to show, and use “Requests through Zayalle” if you prefer to decide who gets your details. Follow the Community Guidelines and the Terms of Use.
8. Reporting
Use “Report” on any provider profile for incorrect information, impersonation, unsafe or prohibited services, or inappropriate behaviour. In an emergency, contact the local emergency services first.
This guidance may be updated as Zayalle evolves.
